Asset Overview

This is a laser scanned model of a fish plate found in 2015 in downtown Toronto by Archaeological Services, Inc. during its excavation of the CityPlace schooner, an early 19th-century merchant vessel. The fish plate was discovered on the port side of the stern of the vessel and was used to fasten the upper keel to the lower keel. The wreck is currently located at the Fort York National Historic Site and is the subject of an archaeological study by scholars from the Nautical Archaeology Program at Texas A&M University.
