Asset Overview

Scourian Gneisses of the Lewisian Complex, formed between 2500 and 4000 million years ago. The fractures in the green-blue Scourian are in-filled with reddish sandstones of the Stoer Group (Torridonian), which were deposited between 1000 and 1200 million years ago. The younger sandstone was likely washed into fractures within the Scourian rocks that were open during the time of deposition. Generated using 18 photographs, taken by Clare Bond with a Nikon D3200. Processed in *Agisoft Photoscan* by Clare Bond. Text by Adam Cawood. [www.e-rock.org](http://www.e-rock.co.uk)
