Ivan III Vasilievich (1440–1505) - the Grand Duke of Moscow from 1462 to 1505, the sovereign of all Russia, in some documents he was titled tsar, in a number of foreign sources he was called the Kaiser and the Emperor. The result of the reign of Ivan III was the unification of a significant part of the Russian lands around Moscow and its transformation into the center of a single Russian state, for which he received the nickname "collector of the Russian land." In particular, under him the current coat of arms of Russia was adopted - a two-headed eagle. The final liberation of the country from the Horde dependence was achieved; adopted the Code of Laws - a set of laws of the state; a number of reforms were carried out that laid the foundations of the local system of land tenure; the current Moscow Kremlin and the main cathedral of the Russian state - the Assumption Cathedral were built.
