Asset Overview

A Colossus of Ramesses II carved in limestone around 10m in length and housed in the museum at Mit Rahina or ancient Memphis. This amazing piece of sculpture was found in 1820 by Giovanni Caviglia, near the south gate of the temple of Ptah near the larger colossus of Ramesses. The statue was donated by Mohammad Ali to the British Museum, but it proved hard to move. This 3D model was created from 409 photographs taken with a Sony A6000 in 11 minutes, processed in Photoscan Pro and decimated in Meshlab. Data will be uploaded to Github and Google Drive for others to use. Processed on medium settings, undecimated 5million faces.
