Asset Overview

Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet, part of Sheffield Industrial Museums, is in Sheffield, U.K.. Part of it is a set of crucible furnaces for making steel (which was then forged into blades on the same site). The current model shows the underside of one of the crucible furnaces (with other furnaces on either side). I chose the one missing its grating bars (which you see clearly on the left neighbour), so that we can see into the cavity that held the crucible itself. All the photos were taken from the underside, so you are seeing the interior of the cavity. The model was constructed from photos taken in October 2019, using Meshroom software 2019.1 (and Meshlab for cleanup). Another crucible furnace, not far away, has a model here: https://skfb.ly/6UXDC
