A knife is a wonderful thing. He will feed a skilled person, and give him something to drink, and protect him. You can use a knife to peel and scrape the hide, trim clothes and shoes, and cut out a spoon, bowl, and ladle. With him, you can kick birch bark on a sling or tues. The knife will help to make a bow, arrow, staff or ax. When planted on a ridge, it can turn into a slug, spear or owl. Remove an arrowhead or a bullet from the body, open an abscess, interrogate a prisoner, exterminate fire - all this may require a knife. You can shave with a knife, cut sausage and people, beat off steaks and make stocks.
