During the experimental period of the 1840s, different types of cameras appeared. The size changed and gave pictures in different formats. Daguerreotypy required special knowledge and the new media technique was aimed at professional practitioners. This camera was purchased in 1852 by the Royal Artillery and Engineering School in Stockholm. It is a sliding box model and intended for use with tripod.
