Asset Overview
Model of 35mm Special Effects cine camera by Alfred Darling & Sons, Ltd, Brighton 1899. This camera was made by one of the early pioneers of cinema based in Brighton & Hove.
This model captures the shape of the camera, but not the texture, which is made from wood with a metal hand-crank.
The model was created from an original object in the Film & Media collections of Brighton & Hove. It was scanned by the University of Brighton's Cultural Informatics team to be used in a plinth on Hove seafront.
