Asset Overview

This slab of flagstone exhibits a range of incised and pecked designs dating from the late Neolithic (c.2900-2400 BC). The yellow brackets marked on the stone are areas photographed and published in Prof. V. Gordon Childe's 1931 account of his excavations at Skara Brae. This stone is on display in the Skara Brae Visitor Centre.
