Asset Overview

A dolium (plural: dolia) is a large earthenware vase or vessel used in ancient Roman times for storage or transportation of goods. This specimen, with a remarkable capacity of about 2000 liters, was recovered at sea on 23 June 1999 by a trawler. the Dolium, from the era of the August emperor, was used for the transport of wine. It is possible to admire this dolium near the entrance hall of the town hall of Terracina in Italy
