Asset Overview

This 3D model represents an iron water bottle - one of many essentials used every day by miners of Limburg while working in mines. During the typical workday, miners were spending about 8 or more hours working underground, in a hot and dark surrounding. That includes 30 minutes of their lunch break. Half an hour was too short to go back to the surface. Thus, it was necessary to take food and water downstairs. Miners' water bottles were made of durable materials, such as iron or aluminium, which were more resistant to potential damages and severe underground conditions. Moreover, they were usually equipped with a chain that allowed to attach the bottle to the belt. This particular type of bottles was popular between the 19th and 20th century.
