The hillfort and broch at Edin's Hall dates from the Iron Age; the original fortification was probably first constructed in the period 400 - 200 BC, while the broch and stone roundhouses came a little later, probably in the late 1st millennium BC or early 1st millennium AD. Evidence for activity in the medieval period has also been found by archaeologists.
