Egyptian Scribe Statue, 1340 BC

"This fragmentary scultpure probably once depicted a scribe seated cross-legged, a roll of papyrus in his lap and a reed pen in his hand, ready to transcribe bits of vital information. His job might involve recording the total crops harvested (so the farmer could pay taxes), the number of enemies killed in battle, or legal rulings. Since most people in ancient Egypt could neither read nor write, this ancient bureaucrat was an admired and valued memeber of Egyptian Society." This model was created using photogrammetry. The photos were taken June 27, 2021 at the Speed Art Museum. This model is incomplete and represents only a proof of concept, since access to the artifact was limited and it was inside a glass case. A more comprehensive scan of the artifact would result in a much, much higher quality 3D model.
