Grave of honour of Carl von Lützow at the Vienna Central Cemetery. Carl von Lützow (1932-1897) was a German art historian and university lecturer. In 1863 Carl von Lützow went to Vienna and was initially a private lecturer at the university. The following year he became a lecturer in art history at the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1867 he was appointed extraordinary and in 1882 full professor of art history at the Technical University of Vienna. Since the famous art historian had made his home in the Austrian capital, the city of Vienna honoured him with a grave of honour at the Central Cemetery.
