Asset Overview

The design of the XI model presented here was developed in 1926. The vacuum cleaner had a cylindrical shape and metal guides, which enabled the device to be easily moved during cleaning. Until the 1960s the guides were a characteristic feature of Electrolux vacuum cleaners. The body of the device was bound in dark green leatherette. The model was equipped with a 230W motor. Thanks to its design, the device could fulfil additional functions. After a black Bakelite part was unscrewed at the front of the machine and attached to the rear housing, the stream of air from the outlet could be used to ventilate pillows and mattresses, remove dust from the inside of radios, or to dry hair. A separately connected power supply cord with a bayonet connector allowed it to be replaced when the cable was worn or damaged. Manufacturer: AB Electrolux, Sweden Inv.
