Asset Overview

**(Please note that the above render may show distorted geometry in places - please be assured that the original geometry is smooth & optimised for most 3d printing/AM processes)** Enneagonal Orbiform is a mathematically perfect solid of constant width. Its profile is based on the regular enneagon (aka nonagon, 9-sided polygon). It’s one of the rolling solids - an interesting geometrical form that rolls like a sphere despite of not looking like it would be able to. The secret behind the rolling is the equal distance behind between the points and their opposite vertices. Other models in the collection: Classic Orbiform (free): https://skfb.ly/ot9Hw (an equilateral trangle-based rolling solid of constant width) Pentagonal Orbiform: https://skfb.ly/ot9WU Septagonal Orbiform: https://skfb.ly/ot9XX Part of the study exploring the innovative shapes for metal additive manufacturing and CNC machining.
