> *Petra Flavi Carantini: The rock of Flavius Carantinus.*
> Above the right-hand end of the inscription is a phallus, apparently cut by Carantinus. In comparatively recent times the rock broke away at the beginning, leaving only part of p in petra. A secondary p was cut on the new surface with a modern chisel, identical with that used by the nineteenth-century workman, A. L. Henderson, who in 1885 carved his own name above the Roman text
