Asset Overview

Quick 2.5D model from just 3 photos of inscribed rock from Roman Quarry at Fallowfield Fell, now outside Chesters Museum. There is an illustration of the inscription as it was *in situ* at Written Crag, Fallowfield [here](https://www.flickr.com/photos/thearmaturapress/5852219651) Quarry Inscription of Flavius Carantinus [RIB 1442](https://romaninscriptionsofbritain.org/inscriptions/1442) > *Petra Flavi Carantini: The rock of Flavius Carantinus.* > Above the right-hand end of the inscription is a phallus, apparently cut by Carantinus. In comparatively recent times the rock broke away at the beginning, leaving only part of p in petra. A secondary p was cut on the new surface with a modern chisel, identical with that used by the nineteenth-century workman, A. L. Henderson, who in 1885 carved his own name above the Roman text
