Asset Overview
This skull of a young woman contains eight stab wounds. They are caused by a sharp weaponry, most likely a sword. In the forehead are two large, horizontal pierced stab wounds perceptible. The upper stab wound is 0,95 inch long, the lower is 1,26 inch. On the left side of the forehead are also light, vertical cuts, four in total. The woman is attacked right at her occiput, given the presence of two shallow, vertical stab wounds.

The skull was found during an archaeological excavation at Langedijk in the Dutch province North-Holland. It reminds of the war between the West Frisians and the Duke of Holland near Vronen (1297 A.D.)
