In het centrum van Rotterdam hebben archeologen diep onder de grond de resten gevonden van de pre-stedelijke nederzetting Rotta uit de 10e en 11e eeuw.

Deep underground in the centre of Rotterdam, archaeologists have found the remains of the settlement of Rotta from the 10th and 11th centuries. A mound with the traces and remains of six successive farms from the period 950-1050 AD has been documented.*
