A fishing plummet which is part of the archaeological collection curated at the Natural History Society of Maryland. This artifact was recovered during the excavation of a precontact period site located along Stoney Run in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The site dates to the Late Archaic to Early Woodland periods and was first discovered by a local property owner in 1899 and investagated in 1943 by Richard Stearns and the Natural History Society of Maryland.
