Asset Overview
Work of neoclassical taste portraying Ceres, goddess of the fields and of agriculture, which symbolizes the restoration of the malaria plague of Terracina following the reclamation works carried out during the pontificate of Pius VI. On the front of the fountain, under the statue of Ceres is represented, in an intrigue of plants and snakes, the swamp, while on the sides two allegorical figures depicting Faun (protector of the countryside) pour water into the side tanks. Strongly evocative work of neopagan taste, responding to the canons of the best neoclassical tradition.
