Friedrich Wilhelm Heinrich Raiffeisen (1818-1888) was a German social reformer and municipal official. He is one of the founders of the cooperative movement in Germany and is the eponym of the Raiffeisen organisation. Raiffeisen is the brand or name part of more than 330,000 companies worldwide that are involved in agricultural products and financial services. The usual trademark is the gable cross in the form of two crossed horse heads.
