The Gortnacrannagh figure was discovered by archaeologist from Archaeological Management Solutions (AMS) along the route of a TII road scheme. The carving is the largest wooden figure to date, and is within the hinterland of the Rathcroghan Complex in Co. Rosocmmon. A replica of the carving was made by members of Pallasboy project team, AMS, UCD Experimental Archaeology and DH_Age in September 2021.
This replica was recorded using photogrammetry by Gary Dempsey of DH_Age
