Asset Overview

Govan 15 ([Stirling Maxwell's numbering](https://archive.org/details/sculpturedstone00maxwgoog/page/n30/mode/2up); ECMS 34) is one of 31 early medieval recumbent cross-slabs originally recorded at Govan Old in 1899. This is currently displayed upright, but these monuments would have originally laid flat in the churchyard, likely marking the grave of a significant early medieval individual. This monument is fragmented, but there are no records for what the lower part would have looked like. This stone was reused sometime between the 17th-19th centuries, at which point the initials 'A.R.I.R.' were added. This 3D model was created as part of Dr Megan Kasten’s PhD, available here: http://theses.gla.ac.uk/74266/. The 3D model was created with SfM photogrammetry, using Agisoft Metashape, and edited with Zbrush. While the download of this 3D model is free, if you are able please consider supporting the Govan Stones by donating to the [Govan Stones Appeal](https://tghts.enthuse.com/profile).
