Asset Overview

Govan 42 ([Stirling Maxwell’s numbering](https://archive.org/details/sculpturedstone00maxwgoog/page/n56/mode/2up); this was not given an ECMS number because of its weathered condition) is one of 31 early medieval recumbent cross-slabs originally recorded at Govan Old in 1899. This monument is still lying recumbent in the churchyard, close to the church's western entrance. It is also likely to have marked the grave of a significant early medieval individual. Because this stone is significantly eroded and lichen covers most of the monument, 3D recording offered brief insights into the monument. RTI would be beneficial. This 3D model was created as part of Dr Megan Kasten’s PhD, available here: http://theses.gla.ac.uk/74266/. The 3D model was created with SfM photogrammetry, using Agisoft Metashape, and edited with Zbrush. While the download of this 3D model is free, if you are able please consider supporting the Govan Stones by donating to the [Govan Stones Appeal](https://tghts.enthuse.com/profile).
