Asset Overview
Govan 5 ([Stirling Maxwell's numbering](https://archive.org/details/sculpturedstone00maxwgoog); ECMS Govan 11; Lang 5) is the largest of the five hogbacks. This is also one of three that are concave on the underside. It is uncertain why this was done, this hogback was not hollowed out as extensively as Govan 3 and Govan 6. The white spaces underneath the hogback are not ‘real’ - they are holes in the data that were filled in with Zbrush software. The recess on the ridge is likely later damage, possibly from the turning of a [bullaun stone](http://soas.is.ed.ac.uk/index.php/psas/article/download/6658/6627)(Allen 1897, 148).
