Asset Overview
When Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was buried in 1791, the cemetery of St. Marx mainly had shaft graves, simple burial mounds, occasionally equipped with a wooden cross. Only a short time later it was hardly possible to determine exactly where Mozart was buried. After a more precise location determination, a [representative funeral monument](https://skfb.ly/6TARC ) was erected at this site in 1859. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Mozart's death in 1891, it was moved to the Vienna Central Cemetery. On the initiative of cemetery caretaker Alexander Kugler, this funerary monument was erected on the orphaned site in St. Marx.
