Asset Overview

Copper Spike with Wood at Site 2-04-8MO02343 near Key Largo, Florida as found in June, 2019. This copper spike was encountered in a recess in the bedrock in the northeastern part of the shipwreck site during an informal swim. Out of fear of never finding it again, this 3D model was made without a scale. (Indeed, it was not relocated.) It is approximately 12 centimeters long. This spike differs from others on the site in that it has a bit of wood attached underneath the head, from the plank it was driven into, an indicator that at least part of the ship decayed here.
