Asset Overview

Four copper or copper-alloy tacks are found in a recess in the bedrock at shipwreck site 2-04-8MO02343, thought to be that of the 1827 pirate slave ship *Guerrero*. Similar tacks have been found on the site in context with copper sheeting. The sheeting was used to sheath the wooden hull as protection against shipworms and fouling, and it was attached with tacks like these. Scale = 5 centimeters.
