A chert Guilford projectile point curated at the Natural History Society of Maryland. The Guilford point is characterized by a long, narrow, thick blade with a straight, rounded, or concave base. This point type dates to the latter part of the Middle Archaic period ranging from 6200 to 5500 BP (approximately 5250-4350 BC).
