Asset Overview

The model shows a small section of the NE face of this small standing stone, which has several cup marks in the centre towards its base. This appears to be an example of a cup marked boulder which has been deliberately selected an then upended as a standing stone. The opposite face of the stone is relatively flat and when it lay originally on this side, the cup marking would have been on the topmost point of the boulders in an almost horizontal position - which is the position in which they are usually found in Scotland. There are four definite cup marks and two further smaller possible ones. Canmore Ref. 12170 Scotland's Rock Art Project (ScRAP) Ref. 1270 This stone was recorded and modelled for Scotland's Rock Art Project by Nick Parish of the Callander Group.
