This helmet features decorative grooves on the skull and the visor has been extended into a beak.
As late as in 1866, the helmet was thought to have belonged to King Magnus Ladulås (dead in 1290) and was on display in the Riddarholmen Church together with a suit of armour consisting of unrelated parts.
However, King Magnus would never have come across the helmet which was made in Germany in the 1530s.
