Swinton Kirk, Scottish Borders has enjoyed a close association with the Swinton family, who were the local landowners. Heraldic panels displaying the Swinton coat-of-arms, which features three boars' heads, have been built into the fabric of the walls. This panel is on the south wall above a doorway and features a spiked boar and three boars heads. Swinton's name is derived from Swine Town as many boars historically roamed the area.
