This is the pelvis of a juvenile hippopotamus (*Hippopotamus amphibius*) skeleton given to the Lapworth Museum by Russell Coope. Its broad ilium provides attachment sites for large thigh muscles needed to support the hippo. Dried remains of connective tissues on this specimen have created minor artefacts in the digitised model which you may be able to notice.
This specimen was digitised by Jack Mayer Wood using photogrammetry, and is part of a collection of bones from this individual hippo that have been digitised.
