Leopold III (1073-1136) comes from the house of the Babenbergs and was margrave of Austria from 1095 to 1136. A saint of the Roman Catholic Church since 1485, he became the national patron saint of Austria and patron saint of Vienna and Lower Austria, together with St. Florian of Upper Austria. Since his canonisation, Leopoldi Day has been celebrated annually on 15 November.
