***Homo erectus*** Location: Sangiran, Java, Indonesia. Age: <1.0 million years ago. Material: epoxy resin cast. Dimensions: length, 137 mm; width, 145 mm; height, 75 mm. Notes: RLA catalog no. 2501.1rp33-2 (cast). One of two articulating calvaria fragments from individual designated Sangiran 4, discovered in 1939 by R. von Koenigswald and F. Weidenreich. Formerly named Pithecanthropus Skull IV. Cast made by the Wenner-Gren Foundation Casting Program at the University Museum of the University of Pennsylvania.
