This prehistoric carved portable rock was found during the excavation of Hunterheugh by Clive Waddington, Aron Mazel and Ben Johnson in 2004. Referenced ‘Hunterheugh 1 Excavation Portable 2’ on the Beckensall Archive (BA) it was described as:
‘Side 1 has a single cup with the peck marks still visible and side 2 has a random scatter of peck marks.’
The record was added to ERA by NADRAP in 2008.

This model just shows the carved surface with the single cup and is created from imagery captured by NADRAP Team 2 in May 2006. The images formed part of NADRAP archive deposited with Historic England and Northumberland County Council.
