Attributed to the Workshop of the Patera Painter, South Italian, Apulian [Hydria circa 320 BCE](https://ncartmuseum.org/art/detail/hydria) Terracotta, red-figured with added white paint. Purchased with funds from the state of North Carolina 1974 (74.1.2) Per the museum label: 'This funerary vase would have stood above a grave. Libations for the deceased were poured into the vase. The central scene depicts a shrine with two women, possibly a mother and daughter, surrounded by objects of everyday life and attended by a servant holding a fan. Four mourners carrying offerings to the deceased are outside the shrine. Object located in the North Carolina Museum of Art
