Iron cross memorial

Granite stone "Iron cross" shaped memorial, public art object *The monument in the shape of the so-called Iron Cross, a decoration for bravery in the face of the enemy during the state of war, was erected by local Germans in May 1944 in memory of the fallen members of the German army from Kořenov (CZ) and the surrounding area. The individual enlistment sites are represented by memorial stones arranged in a semicircle with a cross in the centre. The iron cross was broken and thrown down at the end of World War II. In 2011, parts of it were found by history enthusiasts and the memorial was illegally restored as the only one of its kind in the Czech Republic.
