The sinking of the Jeanne-Elisabeth is placed in a particular historical context of extreme tensions between France and Great Britain. This hidden conflict will culminate a few weeks later in the 7 years War, considered today as the first globalized conflict.

The 3D model proposed here represents a part of the rear bulk of the ship (stern area) and constitutes the first step of an attempt to restore the structures still preserved. The acquisition of underwater images is carried out by the association Septentrion Environnement (Marseille). The photogrammetric treatment is the result of the work of Pierre Drap for the CNRS, This wreck will be followed in time by annual photogrammetric surveys, naval architectural elements will be used as experimental ground for the project GROPLAN (http://www.groplan.eu).
