Asset Overview
Worldwide famous statues like Manneken Pis in Brussels, Queen Victoria in the Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester or Queen singer Freddy Mercury in Montreux have had a protective mask put on, during the Covid-19 pandemic. As an exhilaration, but also as an appeal for the best possible protection of each individual in the crisis. The Goethe monument in Vienna, which is known far beyond the borders, was also provided with a protective mask.
The monument in honour of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was designed by Edmund von Hellmer and unveiled on 15 December 1900. The poet is portrayed sitting in a bronze ceremonial armchair on a three-tiered pedestal of Italian granite. The monument is 5.55 m high.
