Asset Overview

This helmet was most likely made in the 1610s in the district of Norrmalm, Stockholm. The helmet is very similar to those made for King Gustav II Adolf and helmets worn at jousting tournaments at the time. The helmet weighs 5.086 grams (≈ 11.2 lb) and would have provided the wearer with adequate protection. Worth noting is that the helmet features the same basic shape as other closed 16th century helmets on display in the museum. This 2-piece visor consists of a visor and an upper bevor.
