Asset Overview
Botanist and horticulturist Kate Sessions was responsible for planting hundreds of trees throughout Balboa Park in the late 1800s and early 1900s. This statue, created by local sculptor Ruth Hayward, is located near the Laurel Street entrance to the park. The adjacent [plaque](https://skfb.ly/osJUN) has additional details.
