Asset Overview

Part of a Log Boat found associated with a Crannog (an artificial island settlement) which was excavated in the early 1960's at Loch Glashan, Argyll & Bute (near Lochgilphead). The Crannog was in use throughout much of the 1st millennium AD though recent dating evidence shows that the log boat was associated with the earliest period of occupation at the crannog. The Log Boat is currently on display at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery https://www.glasgowlife.org.uk/museums/venues/kelvingrove-art-gallery-and-museum More information on the Loch Glashan Crannog on Canmore https://canmore.org.uk/site/40047/loch-glashan
