c. 1300-1100 BCE Luristan
Private Collection
This bronze dagger from the Southern Levant is an example of the great craftsmanship from this period. This elegant knife is one continuous cast piece. Thin flanges along the grip area are bent slightly in to hold additional material that would have occupied this space. The material would most likely have been wood or bone, which has not survived.
