Asset Overview

This photogrammetry model is called a lute because it is similar to African lutes for lack of better identification, and the artist is unknown. It is made of steel with a stainless strip along the unusual arched neck and stainless wire strings. The model isn't very good because only 65 photographs were taken for this project, learn from experience. Because of this, the model looks more decrepit than it actually is because of its outdoor location 500 ft from the ocean. While the untreated steel is very rusty, and in places is completely eaten away, the stainless pieces are holding up fine. Software used is AliceVision Meshroom and Visual Computing Lab MeshLab. Mesh is original size with surrounding scene removed manually. The instrument measures approximately 76" from the edge of the bowl a few inches below the strings attachment to the edge of the neck a few inches above the strings attachment.
