Just less than an hour's away from downtown Ottawa, Mackenzie King Estate was the summer home of former Prime Minister, William Lyon Mackenzie King. Located in the heart of Gatineau Park, the estate is a popular place for hikers and nature-lovers alike.
One of the most striking features of the area are Mackenzie King's collection of ruins that still stand to this very day. The ruins include parts of the walls of the original Parliament Buildings (before they first burned down) and Westminster Palace in England.
