The reliefs Night and Day, which hang opposite each other, are Thorvaldsen's most popular reliefs. The personified Day flies actively across the sky with her head held high. Looking over her shoulder, she fixes her gaze on the small boy bearing a torch, who proudly symbolizes light and the Sun.
