The O Dea [Mitre](http://vocab.getty.edu/page/aat/300266078) is on display in the Museum on behalf of the [Roman Catholic Diocese of Limerick](http://limerickdioceseheritage.org/Diocese/ODeaMitre.htm). The mitre was made to the order of Bishop Conor O Dea of [Limerick](https://www.geonames.org/7778675/limerick-city.html) in [1418](http://n2t.net/ark:/99152/p06hps8s33k) and still belongs to his successor. This mitre made by Thomas O Carryd would have been used for the most solemn occasions.
