Asset Overview
Located within a field of rough grazing, a top a small knoll, this outcrop has two different areas of carving. The upper panel to the north is square in shape (1.6 x 1.6 m) and decorated across the flat upper surface which gently slopes to the SW. It has been carved with numerous motifs including cup and ring (where the cup is slight raised on a boss inside the ring), a double arc with adjacent cupmark, and cupmarks. Some have been weathered substantially, where others have only just been uncovered as part of this research project.
The lower panel is much longer and oval in shape at around 3.4 by 1.8 m in size. It has been decorated with a range of motifs, primarily rings with no central cups, a small, rough arc, and two cup and rings one of which has a short tail. Again, the majority of these motifs have been heavily weathered and are only really visible in direct, low sunlight.
